Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) recently hosted a high-level delegation of Japanese industry leaders, marking an important step in strengthening international industrial cooperation and investment engagement. The visit focused on reviewing ongoing infrastructure development, semiconductor projects, and long-term industrial planning within India’s first greenfield smart city.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed by state officials and project authorities on the progress of core infrastructure, including road networks, power supply systems, water management facilities, and digital infrastructure within the Dholera activation area. Special emphasis was placed on Dholera’s role as a future semiconductor and advanced manufacturing hub, aligned with India’s national electronics and semiconductor mission.

Japanese representatives also reviewed the region’s plug-and-play industrial zones, logistics connectivity through the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway, and the upcoming Dholera International Airport. Officials highlighted how these projects collectively position Dholera as a globally competitive destination for high-technology manufacturing and export-oriented industries.

Discussions during the visit explored potential collaboration opportunities in sectors such as semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, green energy, precision engineering, and smart city technologies. Japanese companies expressed interest in understanding policy support mechanisms, ease-of-doing-business reforms, and long-term urban planning strategies being implemented in the region.

State authorities noted that international engagements like this reflect growing global confidence in Dholera’s development roadmap, particularly as large anchor projects move from planning to execution stages. The visit is expected to pave the way for future Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), technical collaborations, and investment proposals from Japanese firms.

As Dholera continues its transition from infrastructure creation to industrial and urban occupation, such global interactions reinforce its vision as a long-term economic growth engine and a model smart industrial city for India.
