The Dholera Railway Project has witnessed strong progress in 2026, with survey and route alignment work moving towards its final stages. This ambitious rail corridor is designed to connect Ahmedabad with Dholera Smart City, significantly improving regional connectivity and supporting the rapid development of the smart city under the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). The project focuses on both passenger and freight transportation, ensuring efficient movement across industrial zones.

Once operational, the railway line is expected to reduce travel time and provide a reliable and cost-effective transport option for daily commuters, workers, and businesses operating in and around Dholera. The improved rail connectivity will further strengthen the region’s infrastructure and make it more accessible for investors and industries.

Additionally, the project is set to enhance freight logistics by enabling faster and more efficient movement of goods, benefiting sectors such as manufacturing, warehousing, and exports.

The railway connectivity will also complement major infrastructure developments like the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway and the upcoming international airport, creating a strong multi-modal transport network that will accelerate economic growth in the region.
