Tata Electronics Plans 363-Acre Vendor Park for Dholera Semiconductor Ecosystem

Tata Electronics is set to take another significant step in building out its semiconductor ecosystem in Dholera, with plans for a 363-acre vendor park designed to house around 450 suppliers supporting its upcoming fabrication plant.

The announcement was made during SEMICON India 2026, where Tata Electronics Senior Vice President for Strategy and Business Development, Utpal Shah, explained that semiconductor manufacturing depends on suppliers, maintenance teams, spare parts, chemicals and gases being located close to the production facility. Unlike conventional factories, a semiconductor fab cannot afford extended shutdowns, making proximity of critical vendors essential to uninterrupted production.

The proposed vendor park is being developed in partnership with a Singapore-based developer and is expected to offer plug-and-play infrastructure, including power, water, utilities and roads, with building shells potentially available for interested companies in some cases. The supplier base is expected to include companies working in semiconductor-grade chemicals, industrial gases, manufacturing equipment and spare parts, cleanroom infrastructure, water purification systems, precision engineering, logistics, and electrical and power systems.

The vendor park is linked to Tata Electronics' ₹91,000 crore semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, a 300 mm facility planned to produce up to 50,000 wafers per month across process technologies ranging from 28 nanometres to 110 nanometres, serving industries such as automotive, communications and computing.

At the same event, Tata Electronics announced fresh partnerships with global semiconductor companies. Nexperia will collaborate on wafer fabrication, assembly and testing, and supply-chain strengthening. Fujifilm will work on localising critical semiconductor materials for the Dholera fab. Besi will support advanced packaging capabilities at Tata's Jagiroad facility in Assam. Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) will collaborate on chip design, process technologies and semiconductor talent development.

Company officials clarified that the planned network of around 450 suppliers does not mean 450 new factories will come up in Dholera. Some companies may set up manufacturing units, while others could establish warehouses, service centres, maintenance facilities or regional offices near the fab.

For Dholera, the vendor park could help attract fresh investment in engineering, specialty chemicals and industrial gases, create opportunities in logistics and maintenance, and reduce supply-chain delays by keeping critical vendors near the fab. The development strengthens Dholera's positioning as an emerging semiconductor manufacturing cluster in Gujarat, with supplier investments, land allotments and new manufacturing facilities expected to be the next milestones to watch.
