Tata Electronics Clarifies Technology Roadmap for Dholera Semiconductor Fab

Recent reports about the Tata Electronics semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), Gujarat, have highlighted the planned technology roadmap for the upcoming facility.

According to media reports, the Dholera semiconductor fab may initially introduce 55nm and 90nm process technologies, with 28nm technology planned as part of a later phase. The reports suggested that the approach would allow the facility to gradually expand its manufacturing capabilities.

Tata Electronics has clarified that the Dholera semiconductor project has always been planned with a technology roadmap ranging from 28nm to 110nm. The company stated that the rollout will take place in phases, with multiple technology nodes included in its long-term manufacturing strategy.

Mature semiconductor technologies such as 55nm and 90nm continue to be widely used in applications including automotive electronics, industrial systems, IoT devices, consumer electronics, and power management solutions.

The Tata Electronics semiconductor fab in Dholera is expected to support India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem by developing domestic chip production capabilities and related industries in the region.
