Dholera Could Get Japan-Friendly Social Infrastructure as Semiconductor Push Expands
India is exploring new social infrastructure around Dholera to support Japanese companies and professionals as semiconductor cooperation between India and Japan grows.
Dholera could see new social infrastructure as India works to attract more Japanese investment in semiconductors and advanced manufacturing.
During a semiconductor and AI roundtable in Tokyo on August 25, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal discussed creating better living facilities around the Dholera–Sanand region for Japanese professionals and their families.
Possible facilities discussed include schools, accommodation, hospitals, restaurants, hotels and other lifestyle amenities. These developments are currently under discussion and have not yet been announced as completed or under construction.
The government also highlighted key requirements for semiconductor companies, including reliable power, ultra-pure water, cleanroom facilities, waste treatment and efficient logistics.
For Dholera, stronger social infrastructure could support future residential, hospitality, healthcare, education and commercial development alongside its growing industrial and semiconductor ecosystem.
