Tata Electronics Expands Recruitment for Dholera Semiconductor Project
Tata Electronics is expanding its workforce for the semiconductor manufacturing project in Dholera, with fresh recruitment across technical, project, supply chain and cleanroom-related functions as development activity around the facility continues.
Dholera, Gujarat: Tata Electronics is continuing to strengthen its workforce for the semiconductor manufacturing facility being developed in Dholera. Recent recruitment activity shows the company is hiring professionals across several specialised functions required for the development and future support of a large semiconductor fabrication plant.
The latest hiring activity covers areas such as project execution, supply chain management, trade compliance, quality control and cleanroom-related operations. These functions are important in semiconductor manufacturing because fabrication facilities require highly controlled environments, specialised infrastructure and strict technical standards.
The Dholera semiconductor project is one of the largest industrial investments planned in the region. Tata Electronics is developing the facility with technology support from Taiwan-based Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, commonly known as PSMC. The project carries an announced investment of approximately ₹91,526 crore and is expected to become an important part of India's growing semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
The facility is planned as a 300 mm semiconductor fabrication plant with a proposed manufacturing capacity of around 50,000 wafer starts per month. It is expected to produce semiconductor products using process technologies ranging from 28 nanometres to 110 nanometres. These chips can serve industries including automotive, communications, computing, consumer electronics, data storage and Internet of Things applications.
The range of professionals being recruited for Dholera also reflects the complexity of building a semiconductor facility. Such projects require expertise in engineering, cleanroom systems, equipment integration, utilities, logistics, sourcing, quality management and regulatory compliance.
